Job Description
the girl & the fig in Sonoma is currently seeking an experienced Server to join our team. We are a restaurant group with multiple locations in the Sonoma Valley, which includes the girl & the fig in Sonoma, the fig cafe in Glen Ellen, the girl & the fig CATERS!, Suite D , and our FIGfood product line. We strive to use the best in local, sustainable food, and we continually develop many in-house programs to promote those ideals. Please visit us online at for more information. A Typical Day Includes...
- Welcoming guests
- Giving detailed explanations to the guest of additions or changes to the menu
- Making recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
- Answering questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
- Taking food and beverage orders from guests and entering orders in our POS system
- Assisting in delivering food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter
- Performing side work at the start and end of each shift as required
- Maintaining clean service areas
- Monitoring guests dining experience
- Ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service
- Responding promptly and courteously to any requests
- Preparing final bill, presenting check to guest, accepting payment, processing credit card charges
- Assisting fellow servers as situations arise
- Assisting bus person with clearing and resetting tables
- Thanking guests for their visit and invite them to return
This Job Requires...
- Ability to provide or complete CA Food Handler Certification and renew as necessary
- Ability to provide or complete RBS Certification and renew as necessary
- General restaurant knowledge and applicable experience as a Server in a fine dining environment
Physical Demands...
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
- Requires standing more than 90% of time during work shift

- Part-time, weekend availability required
- Hourly wage is $17.60 + gratuities
