Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Deployment Field Engineer . This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
Join the Deployment & MFG Engineering team for Sentinel and take part in engineering solutions to deploy and deliver a state-of-the-art weapon system to our customer. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with knowledge in system integration, field installations and deployment, and checkouts of engineered products. The candidate will be involved in all engineering activities supporting the deployment of critical systems for the Sentinel program. This includes, but is not limited to, engineering solutions for the deployment and installation of products, developing installation CONOPs and instructions, supporting system design, and tool design. The candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, be capable of working a variety of tasks in a proactive manner, is task oriented, self-governed, and communicates effectively with varying levels of Government, NGC, and Supplier personnel.
The candidate will provide advanced technological ideas and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to resolve technical questions and ensure compliance and execution to the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW) requirements. Primary responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and guidance to Deployment and Manufacturing Engineering team in support of:
Technical expertise on field engineering, deployments and installations, and coordination between organizations
Acts as a leader and understands that erroneous decisions on their part will result in probable delay and failure of organizational objectives
Providing guidance to D&M engineering staff
Working closely with the local design and production team to ensure successful deployment in the field
Developing plans and CONOPs to deploy to the field
Development and review field installation instructions
Work closely with the Military/Government customer as well as internal Northrop Grumman leadership
Proficiency and performance development of D&M engineering team
Provides recommendations and solutions to technical challenges by accomplishing studies and evaluations of engineering design throughout the duration of the program

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Bachelor’s degree in Science with 14 years of experience; or Master's with 12 years of experience; or PhD with 9 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Able to give guidance, tasks, and direction to other engineers in support of program execution and leadership vision
Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review
Experience with sustainment of military systems and equipment
Demonstrated written and verbal skills to effectively interact with Government counterparts, other defense contractor organizations, and cross-functional organizations within NG
Experience in planning for deployment of a weapons system or other complex and large-scale systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Previous Northrop Grumman experience with Standard Policies and Procedures
Experience working in or familiarity with the following engineering disciplines: Test Engineering, Field Engineering, Hardware Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Software Deployment, Cyber Security, and Network Engineering
Able to use engineering drawings for troubleshooting and use standard desktop computer and Windows based tools to produce or edit documents including drawings, plans, procedures and reports
Knowledge of Agile principles
Prior USAF experience - Missile Maintenance experience in the 2M0X1, 2M0X2, or 2M0X3 career fields are highly desirable
Experience working with deployed programs or related defense systems
Experience in military, government, or commercial aerospace industry (e.g. aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)
Experience working design into production and deploying engineering solutions to the field
Previous experience on production for military programs
Previous experience on EMD projects
Experience with Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM)
