Position Function: Part-time position under general supervision, employs a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in a particular field of specialization to plan, coordinate, and conduct research.

Department Profile: The Department of Psychology is within the College of Arts & Sciences. It houses 20 tenure track faculty members, over 700 undergraduates, and about 40 doctoral students.
Area of Specialization: Psychology
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. As detailed below, the responsibilities of the Research Associate will include the coordination and logistical management of research projects, experimental programming, data analysis, and data collection
2. The Research Associate's primary responsibility will be to program experiments and to collect, analyze, process, and present behavioral data
3. Contributes to basic and applied research activities by planning, coordinating, programming, collecting and analyzing data
4. Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice and guidance
5. Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures
6. Participates in the dissemination of research results
7. Supports IRB process and experiment pre-registration to ensure that the highest ethical standards are followed in research activities
8. Provides lab tutorials and reviews work done by undergraduate research assistants
9. Lab organization, management of basic lab functions (scheduling meetings, archiving, etc)
10. High integrity and high conscientiousness for all research activities
11. Assisting with grant reports, manuscript and presentation preparation, including conducting literature searches and reviews
12. Offsite travel for data collection and/or dissemination of research findings
13. Programming, collection, and analysis of neurobehavioral, ERP, and fMRI data
14. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with the education and/or experience of the candidate.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. A bachelor's degree in psychology, education, neuroscience or a related field.
2. 1 year of research experience in cognitive psychology
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Working knowledge of statistical software including SPSS and R
2. Experience with discourse and think-aloud protocol coding
3. Extensive experience with Microsoft office products with a specific emphasis on Excel
4. Computer programming skills (e.g., Python, HTML)
