Qualifications
•
Evidence of continued education is demonstrated

Education: B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
•
Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain
Responsibilities
•
The position is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the master production schedule for all assigned value streams to ensure production plans are achieved
•
The individual will analyze the loading and scheduling of materials to optimize machine efficiency, set-ups, and inventory levels, and maintain stellar delivery performance by verifying orders are completed on time and in-full
•
Daily and weekly finite schedules and plans are distributed and verified for adherence
•
Inventory levels and machine order levels are balanced to efficiently and optimally achieve order completion on time and in-full
•
On-time delivery goals are met
•
The needs of the customer are consistently met
•
Inventory accuracy is maintained through best practices for inventory management, including cycle counts and shipping/receiving verification of raw materials
•
All schedules and changes that impact product flow are communicated to appropriate personnel
•
Inter-company communication is effective and performed in a professional manner
•
Positively influences all directions in the organization, including direct reports, peers, and vertically to help the department achieve its goals
•
Demonstrates knowledge of capacities, cycles, and bottlenecks for the value streams
•
Demonstrates knowledge of material flow and product types to best optimize performance
•
Becomes the PMK (person most knowledgeable) of the scheduling and inventory systems and tools to make the voice of the customer visible to the plant floor
•
Ability to handle backup work from the other Production Schedulers is demonstrated
•

Regular utilization of lean tools and daily management systems to make problems visible

Utilizes root cause problem solving to ensure problems do not return

Large metal manufacturer has an opening for a Production Planner/Scheduler at its Pittsburgh , PA , location. The position is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the master production schedule for all assigned value streams to ensure production plans are achieved. The individual will analyze the loading and scheduling of materials to optimize machine efficiency, set-ups, and inventory levels, and maintain stellar delivery performance by verifying orders are completed on time and in-full. Duties: SCHEDULING •Daily and weekly finite schedules and plans are distributed and verified for adherence. •Inventory levels and machine order levels are balanced to efficiently and optimally achieve order completion on time and in-full. •The weekly and monthly capacities by value stream are controlled and optimized. •On-time delivery goals are met. •The needs of the customer are consistently met. •Inventory accuracy is maintained through best practices for inventory management, including cycle counts and shipping/receiving verification of raw materials.
