Job Summary Responsible for the production scheduling activities for one of the three Value Streams at Sportech. This includes detailed tracking of issues that could affect future jobs, leading the daily cross-functional check-in on that value stream, and working closely with the production team to ensure future production schedules align to the capacity plans.
Essential Job Functions - Responsible for the development and maintenance of a production schedule, by recognizing and adjusting the plan for addition or deletion of items to maintain the integrity of the plan and delivery schedule to the customer.
- Review and adjust the production schedule to ensure timeliness regarding scheduling issues, order allocations and proper capacity and material planning.
- Respond to and resolve MRP recommendations and discrepancies and adjust manufacturing schedule accordingly.
- Rough cut capacity planning to maximize available resources and identify possible capacity problems.
- Assist in providing purchasing with requirements for the production schedule.
- Review and update production schedules and material requirements.
- Foster, drive and promote communication with cross-functional teams to improve schedule attainment.
- Review cell capacities and develops both short- and long-term capacity plans, establishing and adjusting schedule dates and relative priorities on all work orders, adjusting lot sizes when necessary to meet manufacturing requirements and constraints, customer service and inventory requirements.
- Interface with the Customer Service & Supply Chain functions to resolve concerns regarding schedules, orders and special needs.
- Determine, recommend and provide alternatives when demands exceed capacities.
- Recommend and implement new procedures and policies to improve the effectiveness of the operation.
- Support new product development through coordination and scheduling of new product introductions through successful product launch.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Certification: APICS certification preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years scheduling experience; proven experience with complex planning and forecasting; understanding of product life cycles
- Professional Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and problem solving skills, demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work under deadlines.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; understanding of Epicor ERP, MRP or other similar system.
