JOB TITLE: Pool Bartender - MUST BE AVAILABLE SUNDAY-THURSDAY
DEPARTMENT: BLU Beach Bar & Grill
LOCATION: TIDES Hotel
REPORTS TO: Blu General Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced high volume pool bartender. This individual will be responsible for making beverages for guests at the pool bar and for the service well. These include classic cocktails, frozen cocktails, specialty cocktails. This person should also possess wine and beer knowledge. The bartender is responsible for keeping the bar stocked, assisting with inventory and basic opening and closing duties of the bar.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Have full knowledge of beverage lists and food menus;
Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards;
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage;
Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods;
Responsible for personal hygiene, grooming, clean uniform, and professional appearance;
Responsible for punctuality when reporting to work, and clocking in and out
Greeting guests at the bar in a friendly and professional manner
Describing all current specials with each guest
Preparing drinks for guests at the bar & for tickets from the service well
Use suggestive selling techniques to create better experiences and better check averages
Engaging socially with guests at the bar to create positive relationships
Use safe alcohol service practices to ensure no one becomes overly intoxicated
Taking payments, closing checks using POS, and cash handling
Assisting with counting inventory
Communicate with fellow staff and managers
Cutting and preparing fruits and garnishes
Keeping the bar stocked, neat, and organized
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
NONE.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or GED; preferred.
Experience: 2 years bartending experience; required.
Skills:
Possess wine, beer and spirits knowledge
Ability to communicate fluently in English with hotel/restaurant guests and employees.
Ability to provide friendly, efficient and courteous service to guests.
Ability to work under pressure, be organized, self-motivated and work well with others.
Strong positive attitude and ability to initiate conversation with guests.
Knowledge of hotel property and operating hours.
Customer focus and drive to deliver optimal employee and customer satisfaction.
Must have the ability to multi-task and perform well under stressful circumstances.
Ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
