Job Title: Merchandise Assistant
Contract Duration : 12 Months

Pay range: $23 - 25/hr
Location: Framingham, MA
Work Type: Hybrid, In-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Job Description:

Join our team as a Merchandise Assistant! We're seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to support our buying team and ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist buyers and the merchandise manager with administrative and clerical tasks.
• Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders, allocations, and issues.
• Monitor and edit purchase orders and follow up on shipments.
• Interface with internal and external contacts.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for merchants and set up vendor visits.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets to track weekly spending.
• Support merchandise assistants and merchants in other areas.
• Prepare and write purchase orders.
• Ensure the accuracy of purchase order information.
• Follow up on late purchase orders and resolve issues.
• Track purchase orders and merchandise shipments.
• Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders, allocations, and problem-solving.
• Field and screen telephone calls for PO-related matters.
• Update vendor databases with accurate contact information.
• Perform general office duties, such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
• Organize reports for buyers.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for merchants.
• Assist in pre- production/production sample processes.
• Open and organize sample packages for buyer review.
• Maintain a pre-ticket address database and resolve pre-ticketed merchandise problems.
• Comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
