As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Engineering Enablement team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Codes, designs, and tests in a heterogeneous technology environment that includes JavaScript (ReactJS) and Java, while discovering opportunities for process and tool improvements to drive those from concept to implementation
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced hands-on experience in React and Node.js
  • Experience building APIs - RESTful APIs, Web Services, Spring Boot, with strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency in coding in Java or Python languages
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including entitlements and IAM policy
  • Experience with Backstage is a plus
