Airlink is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit humanitarian logistics organization that connects airlines with vetted nonprofits to deliver disaster responders and supplies to communities in crisis worldwide. Airlink and its airline partners have transported nearly 14,000 passengers and 6,700 tons of cargo in support of a broad range of humanitarian initiatives that have provided aid to more than 64 million people. Airlink has saved our NGO partners more than $43,000,000 in transport costs. As Airlink celebrates its 15 th anniversary in 2025, we are looking ahead to the next five years, with annual goals that call for increasing our team by 25%, refining our fundraising strategies, and strengthening our brand. To that end, we are seeking an Individual Giving Manager to support our expanding Development team in managing Airlink’s individual giving program. Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Development, the Individual Giving Manager will be a part of a five-member team responsible for generating $6M+ in annual revenue from a diverse funder base, including corporations, individuals, foundations, and government agencies. The primary function of the Individual Giving Manager will be to define and manage Airlink’s individual giving strategy and donor portfolio, resulting in at least $1.5M in annual revenue. This role’s dynamic nature requires a strategic thinker with a passion for philanthropy and exemplary people skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, excels in a fast-paced environment, and is enthusiastic about growing and sustaining a robust individual giving program through crafting appeals and campaigns to engage supporters. Primary Responsibilities: Donor Engagement (40%) Work with the VP of Development to hone Airlink’s individual giving strategy, including major gifts, leveraged platforms, family foundations, donor-advised funds (DAFs), annual campaigns, third-party fundraisers, and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Help develop and steward a portfolio of 75+ donors capable of $5K - $100K+ gifts. Lead and support the cultivation of new prospects within Airlink’s move management process. Conduct donor research, and develop briefings and account plans. Develop and promote ways to give, including planned giving, stocks, insurance, and estate giving/bequests as a tool for major gifts. Campaign Management (25%) Manage an annual giving program to identify, cultivate, and renew individual donors through prospect research, direct engagement, related fundraising events and activities, and donor communications. Manage administration and reporting for disaster-timed giving campaigns, including outreach to donors directly and through leveraged public sources. Collaborate with Communications on the preparation of campaign collateral - including direct mail, e-mail, and online media - that resonates with diverse stakeholders and inspires donor support. Develop campaign materials, acknowledgments, invitations, funding reports, and presentations. Assess roster of leveraged platforms and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency while growing donor base. Collaborate with the Corporate Relations Manager on fundraising engagement with leadership and volunteers, including Ambassadors. Administrative and Data Management (20%) Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date individual donor records. Analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and share key learnings to inform strategic decision-making. Work with the Development Associate and finance team on administration, reporting, reconciliation, and data management in Salesforce/CRM and online giving platforms, including DonorBox. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience + High School diploma. 5+ years of fundraising experience; at least two years managing individual and major gift programs. Knowledge of fundraising/development principles, donor research and cultivation, and proposal process. Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce (or comparable CRM), Microsoft Office/Google Suite, Mailchimp, and Donorbox (or other comparable tools). Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time and information effectively, even under pressure and tight deadlines. Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally (10-20%). Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required. Preferred Skills and Personal Characteristics: Quiet and contagious confidence; conviction in approach and willingness to take risks. High emotional IQ: the ability to r ead a donor's emotional cues, understand their motivations, and tailor a cultivation approach accordingly. Collaborative and committed to team success over individual success. Passion for Airlink’s mission and commitment to aiding those in need. Knowledge of the aviation and/or humanitarian logistics industries. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000.
