We are seeking a passionate, qualified
Health & Safety Manager for our growing company of 400+ employees based in Brookville, PA. This position will be responsible for championing the company's health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. This position has a significant influence on the company's overall performance in the areas of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Maintain safety files and records.
- Analyze safety performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate training programs related to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Work jointly and collaboratively with the production team to improve operational efficiencies and reduce health and safety related costs.
- Maintain the accident investigation program to prevent recurrence of incidents and to ensure information on incidents is shared adequately across all locations.
- Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies and other appropriate agencies such as insurance companies.
- Conduct (or coordinate) on-site reviews and audits of operations for all locations.
- Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Champion a culture reflective of a commitment to an illness and injury-free workplace.
- Collaborate with the safety committee to address safety concerns, gather feedback, and promote a culture of safety. Act as a liaison between management and the safety committee.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field; or five plus years of related experience and/or training; or relevant combination of education and experience.
Experience: - Three or more years of proven experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is a plus.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
