Job Description
Komodo is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Talent to lead and manage our talent division in Los Angeles. Reporting directly to the SVP of Talent and the Founder, the Head of Talent will oversee the talent team, drive strategic initiatives, and cultivate meaningful relationships with clients and partners. This individual will focus on leadership, talent development, and diversifying revenue streams while ensuring the success and growth of our talent roster.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
· Provide strategic direction and oversight to the talent management team.
· Line-manage Talent Managers, ensuring professional growth and team collaboration.
· Lead weekly team meetings and conduct regular 1:1s with team members.
· Drive team accountability for revenue goals and operational excellence.
Talent Development:
· Define and execute content strategies and long-term career plans for talent.
· Enhance each talent’s image and market positioning.
· Identify opportunities to diversify talents’ income streams, including brand partnerships, licensing, publishing, events, and live experiences.
Industry Engagement:
· Proactively initiate brand conversations and secure partnerships across various industries.
· Maintain and grow meaningful relationships with talent, brands, and agencies.
· Stay ahead of industry trends and anticipate potential challenges or opportunities.
Crisis Management:
· Handle sensitive situations involving talent with a calm, solution-driven approach.
Talent Acquisition:
· Lead the team in identifying and onboarding new talent to expand the roster.
Accountability:
· Meet or exceed yearly revenue targets for the talent division.
· Regularly report progress, challenges, and industry insights to the SVP and Founder.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in talent management, with a proven track record in leadership and team management.
· Established relationships with digital talent, brands, and creative agencies.
· In-depth understanding of the evolving social media and digital landscape.
· Demonstrated success in negotiating complex and high-value partnerships.
· Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in person, by phone, or via email.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4-year college education.
