JOB OVERVIEWThis is a full-time Food Manufacturing Production Manager role that is located on-site in Mount Prospect, IL. Oversees, directs, and monitors all food production and food quality control for corporate and franchise restaurants in the United States. This individual oversees food production processes, ensuring compliance with FDA and USDA regulations and responsible for meeting all HACCP procedures and practices. Spearheads, implements, and manages all company, local, state, and federal safety, and sanitation measures. Responsible for team member development and training. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently with or without reasonable accommodation.Essential- 7 to 10 years of experience and knowledge in food production and distribution in a food manufacturing plant.- Ability to communicate effectively and speak, read and write English and Spanish fluently.- Experience with food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices specifications determined by Giordano s or outside regulating agencies (FDA, USDA, or County Health Department).- Knowledge of HACCP and food service regulations.- Experience with creating and maintaining a safety culture and safety programs in a food manufacturing plant.- Inventory management experience.Desirable- Bachelor s degree.- Skilled in handling multiple projects simultaneously.- Strategic and tactical planning skills.- Broad background in food production in a manufacturing facility with line management experience.- Experience with Alchemy training.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending, climbing, twisting and stooping.- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.- Repetitive hand motion for extended periods of time.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Implement daily production schedule.- Plan staffing for the days needs according to standards.- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement processes.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.- Experience with sanitation guidelines.- Control food quality and waste.- Experience with overseeing the production of salad dressings, sauces and pizza dough.- Ability to use computer and knowledgeable of the Microsoft Suite.- Directs all manufacturing.- Establishes a working environment that allows team members every opportunity to reach their potential.- Maintain good employee morale, ensure positive and accurate communications, initiate creative ideas, and encourage progressive thinking from all supervisors and team members.- Produce quality product that meets or exceeds food safety standards and specifications determined by Giordano s or outside regulating agencies (FDA, USDA, or County Health Department).- Assures compliance with all applicable company policy as well as federal, state and local regulations.- Accurate inventory management.- Monitor to implement preventative maintenance on all equipment.- Works closely with the entire commissary team to ensure proper food production operations.- Responsible for assuring compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including SQF, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls.- Meet or exceed any, and all internal and external audits.- Ensure that production is at a level and is scheduled to consistently meet customer service and requirements.- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
