Purpose of Job:

The Distributor Process Manager partners with Distributors and Business Consultants to develop, deploy, optimize, and streamline processes within the distributorship to drive exceptional customer experience, grow volume, and maximize profitability.

Job Components:
  • Drive breakthrough performance in targeted Distributors within their portfolio.
  • Serve as a process improvement expert for key distributor processes, such as inventory management, route optimization, and Econo production, to improve metrics such as reducing cycle times, lead times, working capital, and increasing sales calls, sales volume, and on-time-in-full.
  • Through fieldwork, identify critical processes that need standardization, documentation, and deployment by working with front-line workers (Route Service Managers, Warehouse Team Members, Office Team Members), Distributor Owners, and Support Center Staff.
  • Manage projects to standardize processes, align with cross-functional activities, and meet timelines and key deliverables.
  • Deploy processes to all Independent Distributors, ensuring sustained implementation and target metric improvement.
  • Leverage Corrective Action Process, A3, Lean, and other continuous improvement methodologies for problem-solving, target setting, process improvement, and performance tracking.
  • Identify and analyze existing processes within the distributorship to understand workflow, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, and seek opportunities to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Works alongside Distributor to teach, train, and coach processes that drive improvement.
  • Coordinate with their portfolio of Distributor Performance Managers to build operational and sales improvement pipelines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (preferred) , Continuous Improvement, and/or 4-6 years of experience in B2B sales, distribution operations, or continuous improvement with proven success in multi-unit operations.
  • Experience working with independent business owners/operators.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wholesale operating principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel with the ability to create presentations, reports, and data analysis/process improvement tools to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results with previous assignments; goal oriented.
  • Proven managerial skills such as planning, directing, organizing, executing, and coordinating the completion of multiple objectives and priorities to a successful conclusion independently.
  • Inspire trust by completing projects on-time and in-budget and proactively communicating progress, issues, and next steps.
  • Skillful decision-making based on good judgment and discernment.
  • Fosters innovative thinking and culture with the foresight to seize new opportunities and avoid pitfalls.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain difficult information, influence others to build consensus, and drive change within a multi-unit operation.

Scope Data:
  • Daily coaching and advising of Distributors focused on revenue growth and operating expense reduction.
  • Periodic interaction with Vice Presidents and Officers as needed.
  • Visible to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective cross-functional relationship building across the enterprise and at all levels.
  • Manage small and large projects from beginning to completion.
  • Utilize and manage resources efficiently to support Distributor process optimization activities.
  • Exemplify Interstate's Purpose and Values.
  • Must be able to work in a "Team oriented" environment.

Work Environment:
  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 25+ lbs.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to Distributors.
