Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Commercial Loan Closer to join our dynamic lending team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the closing process of commercial mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and lenders. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating smooth transactions and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Reports to: Managing Director, Head of Loan Production.
Location: On-site Towson, MD preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze loan documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to facilitate the closing process.
- Review and finalize closing documents, including Loan Agreements, Notes, Title Policies, Zoning reports, Insurance coverages, disclosures, and funding instructions.
- Conduct due diligence to verify that all conditions of the loan approval are met prior to closing.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies throughout the closing process.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions and interactions related to the closing process.
- Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the closing process.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to commercial real estate mortgage lending.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial loan closing, underwriting, or a similar role required. Life insurance company mortgage experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial mortgages, leases, closing processes, and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and loan processing software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
