Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Commercial Analyst in Dallas, TX who will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, prepares market analyses and reporting assignments for assigned department with minimal supervision. 

Job Duties

• Works closely across commercial, capital and financial organization to identify areas of opportunity for market analysis and pricing studies
• Assists in preparation of market studies based on internal projects, supply/demand analysis, and market point of view to help determine economics and recommendations for capital and commercial development projects and initiatives.
• Identifies key business drivers, develops point of view, analyzes scenarios, and formulates strategies and implementation plans
• Assists in preparation of cash flow models and internal return calculations for capital projects and commercial contracts
• Helps drive large commercial initiatives, aids in data analysis, and creates concise communication for commercial leadership
• Assists in preparation of materials for Executive Leadership and Capital approval committees.
• Assists others in the department as needed with financial analyses, reports, and systems
• Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of three to eight years of related experience is required in petroleum markets.

Preferred Experience

SAP experience preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in economics, accounting or finance.

Required Skills

Basic understanding of crude oil value chain and key processes of refining. Detail oriented with strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, Excel and PowerPoint in particular. Ability to perform intermediate level mathematical calculations. Self-starter with the ability to think critically and communicate effectively.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May be required to provide work direction to entry level financial analysts.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel required up to 10% by land and air with occasional visits into a refinery environment. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
