Job Overview: The Brand Ambassador will serve as a key representative of Plasencia Cigars, traveling across the USA to retail accounts to educate staff members, retail employees, and premium cigar smokers, about our products, brand heritage, and the craftsmanship behind every Plasencia cigar. This role requires a dynamic and outgoing individual with a passion for cigars, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with retail partners.

Key Responsibilities (in order of priority)

  • Brand Advocate : Serve as the primary point of contact for education between Plasencia Cigars and retail staff members, ensuring they understand the brand, product offerings, and unique selling points.
  • Education and Training : Conduct educational sessions for retail staff, including in-store events, tastings, and training (on-site and virtual) on the nuances of our cigars, tasting notes, and how to best present Plasencia Cigars to customers.
  • Product Knowledge : Provide in-depth knowledge of the brand’s history, tobacco cultivation, blending process, and packaging design to ensure all retail staff can accurately communicate this to consumers.
  • Event Representation : Represent Plasencia Cigars at retail events, trade shows, and industry gatherings, providing support, product education, and enhancing brand visibility.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with sales teams to identify opportunities for product promotion and ensure effective in-store merchandising.
  • Relationship Building : Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail accounts, ensuring ongoing engagement and education that reinforces brand loyalty.
  • Feedback Collection : Gather and relay valuable feedback from retail staff and consumers back to the marketing and product teams to inform future strategies.
  • Travel : Frequent travel to retail locations, events, and industry functions, both domestically (90%) and internationally (10%)

Specific Skill Requirements

  • Passion for Cigars : Strong knowledge and passion for the cigar industry, including a deep understanding of different cigar types, blends, and taste profiles.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Strong ability to build relationships with retail employees and customers, with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Travel-Ready : Willingness to travel extensively (60-75% of the time), including overnight stays.
  • Sales Acumen : A strong understanding of sales techniques and the ability to drive brand growth through education and relationship-building.
  • Self-Motivated : Ability to work independently, manage your schedule, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Required Level of Education & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in the cigar industry, luxury brand ambassador roles, or in retail management/sales with a focus on premium and luxury products.
