Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join a dynamic commercial construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional to gain hands-on experience in managing large-scale projects while working alongside experienced industry leaders.

About the Role:

The Assistant Project Manager will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects. You’ll assist in coordinating various project phases, ensuring that work stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards. This position provides a pathway to grow into a senior project management role.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling, and overseeing daily construction activities.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documents, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Subcontractor Support: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Scheduling Assistance: Collaborate on creating and updating project schedules, tracking milestones, and addressing delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the project manager in facilitating team meetings and communicating project updates to stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and address potential issues proactively to minimize project disruptions.
  • Client Communication: Assist in preparing presentations and reports for clients to keep them informed on project progress.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
