Job Description

Our client, an apparel design and manufacturing company, is looking for a professional and dependable temporary Assistant Kid’s Designer to join their Culver City, CA team!

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and managing details of the fabric development calendars/grids.
• Purchasing original samples and shipping to the China-based development team.
• Overseeing a library of core fabrics that meets costing criteria.
• Supporting Sr Designer with daily tasks such as sending out packages to overseas vendors, sample tracking and receiving, and maintaining general tidiness and organization.
• Supporting preliminary design research and assembling presentation boards for meetings.
• Conducting seasonal trend research to inform design decisions and ensure market relevance.

Requirements:

• Strong CAD skills are CRITICAL.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Degree and/or experience in apparel design or product development.
• Experience in Kids categories (infant, toddler, big girls, and/or tween) preferred.
• Strong with Adobe – Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design & Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of line sheets and techpacks.
• Strong communication skills (will be working with our overseas partners)
• Organized and detail oriented.
