Compensation: 41.20 - 66.98/hour (Based on Experience)

About the Role:

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Aerospace Engineer – Performance and Design in San Luis Obispo, CA. As part of a dynamic team, you will be integral in the design of cutting-edge aircraft, from performance analysis to the development of next-gen aviation technologies.

In this role, you will perform essential analyses and simulations that inform the design of new aircraft and control systems. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technologies in a collaborative, hands-on environment, shaping the future of aviation.

Key Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).

• 3+ years of aerospace engineering experience.

• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.

• Strong knowledge of aircraft performance analysis and conceptual design.

• Expertise in aerodynamics, stability and control, thermal analysis, and systems engineering.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Willingness to relocate to San Luis Obispo, CA.

• Open to US Persons. This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) and/or 5+ years of experience.

• Experience with Simulink, VBA, C++, or other coding languages.

• Familiarity with OpenVSP/VSPAERO, XFOIL, AVL, and similar tools.

• Experience with CFD tools, flight loads analysis, and optimization techniques.

• Knowledge of version control (Git) and CAD modeling (SolidWorks).

• Familiarity with eVTOL aircraft and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) concepts.

• Understanding of civil and military aircraft regulations.

Pay Details: 41.20 to 66.98 per hour
